i primarily use schwab as my brokerage because i have my retirement portfolio with them, but i use trade monster when trading options. $0.5 per contract beats both etrade, schwab and ameritrade on options pricing. the $7.50 stock trading is also great. trade monster isn’t too well known, but they’re reliable. if you’re looking for a true discount broker, trader monster is worth a look for sure. their futures contracts are competitively priced as well.

TradeMONSTER is one of the newer online brokers. It opened in late 2008, and that’s about when I opened my account with them. The brokerage was founded by the same guys behind optionMONSTER, a pretty decent blog about options trading and the financial markets in general. As a reader of that site since 2006, I wanted to try out their broker service.

Overall, a good experience. I’ve used them for a year and a half so far and haven’t anything to complain about. They’re big on options trading and have been well rated for that, but I’m not a heavy trader so I stick to the simple stuff. Investors can also trade futures on Trade Monster, which is great since commodities have been booming lately.

Their commission prices aren’t rock bottom, but there’s a lot to read on their site so you feel you’re getting your money’s worth. Trade Monster also supports mobile trading, which lets me goof off with my portfolio at work on my Blackberry. I’m familiar with the interface and plan to keep using tradeMONSTER unless something really different comes along.
